My Follow Friday

@ComicTwit

We could all use a good laugh, and ComicTwit posts hilarious Tweets to make your day! Quite a few of my favourite Tweets are from ComicTwit. You can even send your own bits of humour and ComicTwit might post them. If you’re feeling down, reading some of ComicTwit’s Tweets might cheer you up.
Notable Tweet: Stress is when you wake up screaming and realize you haven’t fallen asleep yet.

@marcandangel

Marc and Angel post bits of wisdom, some entries at Makes Me Think, and their latest articles at their website, Marc and Angel Hack Life. They cover topics such as productivity, health, love, work, and general self improvement.
Notable Tweet: We are all weird. And life’s weird. And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we call it love.

@DesignerDepot

If you’re not into designing websites, you can still follow Designer Depot! They post bits of eye candy and inspiration and many interesting things. I ReTweet Designer Depot a lot.
Notable Tweet: Rainbox Cupcakes: http://ow.ly/gOLg

Questionable Content Twitter Accounts (@martenreed, @fayewhitaker, @dorabianchi, @hanneloreEC, @marigoldfarmer, @taifighter, @svenbianci, @penelopegaines, @XxSexyRavenxX)

Questionable Content is one of my favourite webcomics that I read daily, and the official QC Twitter accounts are like bonus content. They are not updated very often, but when they are, it’s totally worth it. Oh, and if you don’t read Questionable Content, you totally should. By the way, Pintsize’s Twitter is @pintsize0101 but it’s horrible NSFW so I don’t really recommend following him.
Notable Tweets:
Dora Bianchi: @martenreed breaking up with you
Marten Reed: @dorabianchi noooo […] [launches into space]
Tai: @dorabianchi i will be your rebound f***. seriously. call me. or just come over.
Dora Bianchi: @tai_fighter @martenreed I was joking, you *sses […]

@tremendousnews

Because he would’ve let Taylor Swift finish.
Notable Tweet: Bed Bath & Beyond doesn’t really go further than beds and baths, does it? Thanks liars.

5 Reasons I’ll Leave Your Website

Edit #2: More revisions/changes!

Edit: This is a rant. Sorry if I sound mean, I have edited it a bit more to sound less mean.

#5: I don’t like your layout

Just as long as you have a decent font size, something not too generic, and some nice images and/or colours, I’ll stick around. Actually, as long as I can read what you have to say, I’m good to go. Anything else adds five seconds to my visit, and if I really love your layout, I’ll spend a minute or two just drooling at it. Everyone has pretty good layouts, so this is least important and therefore #5.

#4: Your site takes too long to load

The faster the visitor can access your content, the longer they’ll stay. I usually wait around a minute, unless I’m in a rush, then it’s fifteen seconds. You want them to feel nice when they visit, right? Like you’re inviting them in your house. If a good feeling comes from visiting your website, the visitor will come back again for that same good feeling. And don’t worry, that didn’t make as much sense to me either.

#3: You have something annoying

This includes: Auto-playing music, <marquee>s, flash objects that the visitors don’t actually use, and others I can’t name at the top of my head right now. Music on your site is totally not worth it—it slows down your page, annoys the heck out of your visitors, takes up unnecessary space, and it’s totally pointless since the visitor will most likely be listening to something else. I can usually tolerate something annoying, but if I’ll leave if it gets too much.

#2: It’s hard to comment on your latest blog post

Blog posts that jump from topic to topic are hard to relate to. (To me, anyway.) Sure, one or two (three at max) is fine, but I hate having to comment on each piece of information… my comment jumps from topic to topic like your blog post and it’s not that nice to read.

#1: You barely have any quality content

This matters most of all. What’s the point in staying if you don’t even have any content? Make sure your site has something before it opens.
