What I’ve Been Doing Lately

Ever heard of NaNoWriMo?
Alright, so when I first started it, I made it serious business. I woke up early on November 1st and at the end of the day I had around 8,000 words. I wanted to get a big head start, like in everything else I do, so I can be lazy later. Try it. The best part is when you feel like you can stop, and then realizing you actually can stop whenever you feel like it. It’s one of my favourite luxuries.
I didn’t really write anything else, or do anything else. My brother hogged the Internet connection (dragging the cable to our mom’s laptop, basically) so all I did was write and write… and write… although I hated my characters, my plot was hilariously non-existent, and you’d think they lived on Mars if you were reading it.
Eventually I cracked out a blog post but I didn’t feel like explaining what I was doing. Not yet.
Finally I was going to write a blog post about it, but then I watched New Moon and I just had to record my thoughts for it, and I’d thought I’d wait a few days to post again, because, you know… that would be annoying.
As soon as I finished (with 61,133 words ), I celebrated like a crazed wombat, pasted it into Open Office Writer for editing, and fell asleep.
You’d think I would be editing it as much as I could, right? Wrong, surprisingly. I did a few edits, read over my story, and got bored. I have until like September to get a proof copy of it, so who cares? Besides, I read somewhere that you should wait a month before editing so you’re unbiased about your novel, and for now, all I want to do is go over missed items in Google Reader. (Which I’m starting to use, BTW. It’s very useful! I knew I should’ve started using it a while ago but I never really did.) Just last night I finished the last of the starred items and sorted through the hundreds of bookmarks I have. I even went back to Tumblr again—and posted like 9 items.
I’ve been busy with applying for high schools (well, just one), practicing the piano again, procrastinating about the volounteer hours I haven’t even started yet, and basically school. I only have 5 days left of school, w00t! One of those days is going to be a dance and insert obscure reference to a guy I like who doesn’t like me back here and another day is for movies, so it’s technically 3 days.
Will I actually update again? Will I post more of my adventures? Will I post an excerpt of my novel? Does anybody actually care?!
