About Chosen Destinies

Chosen Destinies (CD), really, is just this website (hosted by Diana) that gives me an excuse to find some way to waste time creatively. Hey, everyone needs a hobby.

Chosen Destinies used to be Icy Prism. Icy Prism is an old site I made in the March Break of 2007, when I was bored. It was just something I used to amuse myself and also practice/teach myself XHTML and CSS.

Most of the content from CD is just old scraps and remains from Icy Prism. I never really changed it so my content could look unique, or it could look boring because a lot of sites already have it.

Icy Prism started as a side project/March break blog. I didn't plan anything big for it, until late December 2007, where I decided to change Icy Prism into a new site called "Chosen Destinies".

What exactly do I do here, anyway? I just fix up the content, blog about the most random things and generally, make the Internet a more pointless and random place.

Behind the Name

Basically, it means... umm... well, it was a great idea at the time I was thought of it. Which was about 2007. I think "destiny" wasn't that popular in a site name at the time, and even if it was, I wouldn't know because I didn't find a site with "destiny" in its name.

I would change it to something that made more sense (seriously, there's no point in the "chosen" part in "Chosen Destinies") but I'm too lazy.

Um, I mean... I'm keeping it because it represents something that once was meaningful to me and has changed my life forever?

*laughs nervously*

Past Layouts

Layout #1 - Binder Collage

1 Binder Collage

Layout # 1
Up from January 2008
To February 2008
My Rating Two and a half stars

The first layout. I had to take photos myself and decorate them on Paint.net. It was brown throughout the entire site, but I did manage to sneak a rainbow in there. I guess it was nice but the coding was a bit awful.

Layout #2 - Valentine's Day

2 Valentine's Day

Layout # 2
Up from February 2008
To February 2008
My Rating Two stars

This was a hand-drawn layout. It was meant for Valentine's Day but I grew impatient and released it. I'm not so proud of the drawings, but the blue and rainbow was nice.

Layout #3 - Blue and Pastel Wonderland

3 Blue'n Pastel Wonderland

Layout # 3
Up from February 2008
To March 2008
My Rating One star and a half

Based off the Valentine's Day layout. It had some problems in IE and to be honest, this is one of my least favourites. I was glad to change it.

Layout #4 - Girlfriend?!

4 Girlfriend

Layout # 4
Up from March 2008
To April 2008
My Rating Three stars

I liked this layout, even if it lacked padding and a nice sidebar. The colour scheme was pretty and overall, it was a decent layout.

Layout #5 - Boyfriend

5 Boyfriend

Layout # 5
Up from April 2008
To August 2008
My Rating Three stars

The first layout that didn't stay up for only a month! I was rather proud of it, even if it was just pixelled. It was available in 7 colours - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and pink.

Layout #6 - Summer

6 Summer

Layout # 6
Up from August 2008
To September 2008
My Rating Two stars

I felt a little sad to take down the previous layout but I felt a little nice with the change. I loved the colour scheme at the time but I missed the rainbow.

Layout #7 - Zombie

7 Zombie

Layout # 7
Up from September 2008
To September 2008
My Rating Two stars

I wanted a really cool zombie-themed layout but I only had time to make this. :/ I only modifed the CSS of the last layout to something more darker and zombie-like. It was okay, but I wanted to change it.

Layout #8 - ITT

8 ITT

Layout # 8
Up from September 2008
To January 2009
My Rating Three and a half stars

This was the first layout in a long while that I was really satisifed with. This one took longer than the other layouts, so that's why I kept it much longer than the other layouts. "ITT" stands for "It's Transformation Time", like it's time to transform my layout into something I like better

Layout #8 - Ilueas

9 Ilueas

Layout # 9
Up from January 2009
To July 2009
My Rating Four stars

The longest layout yet, this simple design recieved many compliments and a few critiques, some of which I fixed right away, others I didn't feel like fixing. This is one of my favourites - due to its cleanliness, simplicity, and the fact it was practically a giant rainbow. This was kind of a better version of the last layout, but somewhat different (more colourful and less boring) This is the first time I made a layout that didn't look tiny on large resolutions.

Accessibility

This site is built with XHTML, CSS, and a little bit of PHP to make updating my website easier. Most of CD is valid XHTML Strict, and the CSS is also valid. CD should work in most popular browsers, like Internet Explorer (7 and up only), Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Safari, and Google Chrome. It should also work without CSS. If you see an error on this site, please contact me with your browser details, the error, and, if possible, a screenshot of the error.
